Surface Adherence ROV “Wallcrawler”

Railscape is working on a number of Wallcrawler variants that use the thrust and aerodynamic effects generated by Electro Ducted Fans to overcome gravity. As the name suggests this enables the machine to not only crawl up walls but also work inverted on ceilings.

The current prototype will evolve into a unique ‘Inspect and Act ROV’ that can be used in multiple roles depending on the payload mounted. We have several inspection payloads under development ranging from standard visible spectrum video cameras for standard inspection and twin stereo cam arrays for 3D modelling, through to powered secateurs for vegetation removal.
