TQUK Level 4 Award for Commercial Drone Pilots

The qualification objective is to provide a benefit to learners by preparing them to fulfil the role of a UAS Operator and Remote Pilot (RP). This syllabus is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as a recognised programme which enables successful learners to be recommended by RUAS to apply to the CAA for an operational Authorisation within the Open or Specific Categories.

This qualification is designed for learners who use Unmanned Aircraft for commercial or medium risk purposes in a specific industry and associated role. Remote Pilots are required to operate in a range of industries and environments. This qualification underpins competencies required in the following job roles:

Commercial drone pilot| Inspector (for example wind turbines) | Photographer | Scaffolders |Surveyors | Engineers |Roofers

Upon successfully completing our course, candidates will be honoured with the Level 4 GVC certification, accredited by Training Qualifications United Kingdom (TQUK). This certification serves as a testament to your expertise and commitment in the field of remote piloting.

This course includes nine online training modules accessed through RUAS Learning Management System, followed by 1-day classroom based training at RUAS’ training facility, a Written Assessment, production of an Operations Manual followed by a practical flight assessment at a later date to suit the student. RUAS will provide the learner with relevant flight logs.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements for this course?

Pre-requisites to registration requires learners to be:

  • Accurately identified by carrying out an initial assessment by RUAS;
  • 18 years of age;
  • learners must own a drone and have insurance.

There are no additional pre-requisites to certification other than the attendance on the full course of training and successful achievement of all assessment activities.

This course is eligible for Enhanced Learning Credits (80% Costs covered by LC, 20% by the learner).
